What are you going to learn from this programme?

Organisations invest a lot of money in stock; therefore the person who is responsible for maintaining the stockroom has an important responsibility to safeguard the company’s investment in that stock. Whatever the purpose of the stock, it is important that it is controlled and managed efficiently.

This learning programme provides you with a practical base from which people who manage a stockroom will be able to learn about the importance of the stockroom and storage, as well as the design, layout planning and health and safety in the stockroom. This includes activities related to the importance of stockroom control, effective stockroom design and layout, storage environments, the methods of storage, types of stock and the importance of safety, health and hygeine in the stockroom.

Who is this skills programme intended for?

This skills programme is aimed at people who are responsible for maintaining the stockroom and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the stockroom.

What are the entrance requirements?

You need to ensure that you have the following skills to understand and apply you knowledge:

• Basic literacy in English and a basic understanding of numeracy (ABET Level 4).

What is the course duration?

The learning programme can be completed within a minimum period of 3 months.
